Redbox & Blockbuster Express are basically fancy vending machines that are an easy and inexpensive way to rent DVDs. You can rent DVDs for only $1 per night. Blue-Rays for $2 per night. You use a credit or debit card to pay for the rental.

Here is how it works:
- Go to a Blockbuster Kiosk or Redbox Kiosk and search for the DVD you want. Don't know where one is? You can find a location near you. You can also go on each of their perspective websites and find the movie you are looking for. You can see if it is available at the location nearest you.
- Search the movie titles you want and add them to your cart.
- If you have a promo or discount code to use, enter it before you check out (see below for more info).
- The kiosk will ask for your credit/debit card. Swipe in the machine. Wait patiently.
- DVD will be vended. Remove from kiosk and enjoy.
Your credit/debit card will be charged $1 per day that you have the DVD($2 per Blu-Ray). You have until 9pm the following day to return movie without being charged for an additional day. If you keep the DVD for 25 days and beyond, you have officially purchased the DVD and you will no longer be charged. **SEE NEW INFO NOTE ABOVE**
With Redbox, you can reserve that movie online and pick up and pay in person if you wish. With Blockbuster you can actually rent the movie online (pay for & use a promo code) then pickup in person.
Now that you know how to use the Blockbuster Express and Redbox Kiosks, you will want to know how to get FREE rentals.
- Sign up for emails at BlockbusterExpress.com and Redbox.com. You will periodically receive promo codes for FREE rentals. Blockbuster sends them pretty frequently, so it is definitely worth signing up.
- Check out blogs and websites that often list FREE Blockbuster rental codes (including ManyMoneySaversBlog). Do an Internet search on Blockbuster or Redbox Rental Codes.
If you do have a promo code, keep this in mind: You can use each promo code once per debit or credit card. So if you have a few cards, you can get even more FREE movies!
***Note:Both Redbox and Blockbuster are great ways to rent movies for very little cost. But they do have a down side. Occasionally the Kiosks are out of order, making it difficult to return your DVDs. You can drive to another Kiosk and return it there or keep the movie extra days. You may end up paying for the additional days however, if you can't get in touch with customer service to ratify the charges.
