When you receive your credit card bill this month, you will notice a change. Easier to read statements as well as your payoff date if you pay only the minimum each month (watch out, that is scary!) You will also see what you would need to pay monthly to completely pay off the debt in 36 months. Get all the details on the new credit card laws and changes here. Don't be fooled by those free credit report tv ads. Many are misleading. They tell you you can get a free credit report or a free credit score, but the catch is you must sign up for their credit monitoring program or something similar.

Save on your Cell Phone Bill
I often find myself on the road or just out and about and need to make a call to a number that I don't have stored on my phone. So what I usually end up doing is calling 411 and getting charged a hefty fee. I found a couple of FREE 411 services that can help avoid that charge. Store these numbers in your cell phone and never pay for 411 again.
Try one of these FREE services. 1-800-GOOG-411 (1-800-466-4411). This service is from Google, as you might hav guessed. Click here to see an easy instructional video on how to use it.
Another one you can use is 1-800-Free-411. Simply dial 1-800-FREE-411 and get the listing you need for free. You do however have to listen to an advertisement (that is how they keep it free). At the prompt you tell them what number you want and they will give your the info via phone or text.

Mom, What's for Dinner?

I have recently started to plan out our dinner meals about 2-3 weeks in advance and it has saved me time and money and aggravation. I often would wait until I got home from work to even begin to think about what we were having for dinner. Which would leave me scrammbling to through something together. I now know ahead of time.
After I decide what I am preparing for the upcoming week(s), I go through my pantry, refrigerator and freezer. I write down what I don't have on hand that I will need for my pre-planned dinners. This is now the beginings of my grocery list.
I find it is also a good idea to look at the weekly grocery store ads. You may find inspiration for your meals based on sale items, particularly meats. Don't forget to scour your coupons and use them in conjunction with the sale items. If there is a particularly great deal on something don't be afraid to stock up on it if you have the room.
Planning ahead of time for your meals as well as your grocery shopping can help keep you organized, save you time and money. I no longer dread hearing, "Mom, what's for dinner?"

Get on a budget plan with your utility company. Generally, how this works is that your gas, electric or water company can determine the annual cost of your utility expenses based on last years usage and divide that cost into 12 equal monthly payments. So lets say you last year you spent $2200 total on electricity. Divide that into 12 equal payments and your monthly cost would be approximately $184 each month. No surprises. You won't have a higher bill in the summer when you run the AC and a lower bill in the fall. You will have equal monthly payments all year long.
Simply call your utility company and ask if this is something they offer. It can help greatly in your budget planning.
